With over 25 years of Human Resource experience, Vice President of HR, Kareen Muros, SPHR stands by her maxim “Good HR is good management, and good management is good HR”. To be an effective strategic business partner, Kareen understands that HR is not only about administrative and compliance oversight. Attracting top-notch talent, fostering effective employee relations, and encouraging performance management are critical to building and retaining successful world-class teams at our venues.

Prior to relocating to Tampa, FL, she had a successful 12-year tenure at the Rose Quarter, home of the NBA Portland Trail Blazers, in Portland, OR. In 1996, she headed Cutting Edge Concepts (a Paul Allen-owned Portland Trail Blazers/Oregon Arena Corp. company) Human Resources department. Her oversight extended to the start-up of the Washington State Exposition Center and (then) Seahawks Stadium in Seattle. She was retained by Ovations as Director of HR following the January 2005 lender acquisition of the Rose Quarter, and promoted to National Director of HR in July 2005, supporting Ovations’ 92 sports and entertainment venues and 7,000+ employees throughout the US and in Canada. Kareen assumed the new role of Vice President of Human Resources for Ovations in January of 2007.

Kareen Muros has 25 years of HR generalist, training and development, labor law and management experience in sports & entertainment, manufacturing and technology, including working for Chevrolet and ITT Corp. She earned her B.A. cum laude from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and graduated summa cum laude with her M.S. from the Georg-August Universitat in Germany and Pepperdine University Law School. Kareen has been recognized for her involvement in Workforce Development in the Northwest, as well as for her contribution to professional development and certification programs for HR practitioners, at-risk youth employment programs, and is active in promoting programs designed to foster individual and team success in the workplace.
